Department of Public Works
The Department of Public Works is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City’s water and sanitary sewer services and streets. Billing for utility services is done on a quarterly basis.
The Department of Public Service is responsible for the following services:
STREET SYSTEM
Surface maintenance
Street sweeping and repair
Snow & ice control
Storm drainage
Signs & markings
Brush pickup (April through November)
Tree trimming and removal (within right of way)
Traffic Services
SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM
System Cleaning
Sewer connection inspections
Sewer disconnections
Utility location
DRINKING WATER SYSTEM
Water distribution system
Water main repairs
Hydrant maintenance & flushing
Service taps and service disconnections
Provide water meters for purchase
PARKS & RECREATION
Structures & grounds maintenance
Playground equipment maintenance
The Public Service Department also performs grounds and building maintenance at City Hall, Police Department, and other City facilities.
